Mordechai had been in e-commerce for over 14 years, working across Amazon, DTC, paid acquisition, and product development. He had helped brands grow by hundreds of percent. He understood how products get built, how audiences get built, and how you close the distance between a good idea and something real.

Ari was the designer. His background was in custom footwear through Stadium Custom Kicks, where he developed the ability to take a bold, creative concept and translate it into an actual product. That skill, turning cultural inspiration into something you can hold in your hand, was exactly what BLURRD needed.

Jimmy had already built a cult brand. Absolutely Ridiculous started as a baseball brand and became something people genuinely cared about. He understood brand voice, he understood niche communities, and he knew what it took to make people feel like a product was made specifically for them.

Mordechai knew Ari from working together on a previous project. Ari knew Jimmy through Absolutely Ridiculous. When the idea came up, the fit was obvious. Three different skill sets. One shared frustration with how boring the golf glove category had become.

One Year from Idea to First Drop

BLURRD was founded in 2023. The first product did not ship until November 2024, and that timeline was intentional.

The team spent a year getting the foundation right. That meant finding a factory that could deliver at the quality level BLURRD demanded, sourcing the right material, developing a design language that was genuinely new to the category, and making sure the glove performed as well as it looked.

This last part mattered. A glove that looked incredible and felt cheap would have been the wrong first impression, and BLURRD only gets one first impression.

The first drop was the Cartoon Collection. Brash, graphic, and deliberately divisive. It was designed to announce that something different had arrived. No easing into it. No safe debut collection. Just a clear statement about what BLURRD was going to be.

The response made it clear the audience was there. Golfers who had been waiting for exactly this without knowing to wait for it.
